I have been to golden donuts for the past two days and had the pleasure of being served by the hard worker who has been hustling away working solo. With a long line inside and in the drive through, she has been kind and efficient. The apple fritter is to die for!

Donuts so good, I took a box home in my suitcase. We were given a donut by another hotel guest and these were so good, I had to find the shop and order more. So happy that they traveled the nearly 2000 miles plus home okay. Even got their coffee while I was there and it was pretty good!
Someone brought a couple of boxes into work yesterday and I ate one...wow! I wish I knew the exact type of donut but I think it was a sour cream with coconut. This was one of the best donuts I have ever had and I have had a lot of different donuts. The texture of the donut was perfect, a crispy sweet exterior and a soft pillowy interior. Even the way they did the coconut topping was amazing. Normally folks just dip the top in coconut and the coconut is a bit dried out. This topping had a thicker layer of glaze and the coconut was more incorporated into that glaze. It set very nicely-not goopy at all. So sad they are closed Monday, I really wanted my boyfriend to try one.
We were craving donuts after leaving Chilkoot Charlie's and we're thrilled to find Golden Donuts was open 24 hours. Not only we're they open, but they had fresh apple fritters at 12:30am (and the rest of the donuts were certainly not old). Zachary was incredibly kind and brought a level of service and friendliness that I would not have expected from a late night donut shop. They know donuts and know how to make people feel at home. Tonight is our last night in Anchorage for this trip and we decided to go back. Zachary was working again and took great care of us again, and sure enough, more fresh donuts. You can't go wrong here.
Friendly service. Helpful employees. I wish we lived closer to golden donuts. I'm a big fan of the bear claw, which I actually never had before I moved to Alaska! My family are big donut people, so when they're in town we swing in here DAILY. That is how good the donuts are! If you dine in you can get your coffee refilled. They have a drive thru that is a little tight to turn into, but speedy and friendly service. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for a donut!
Yeah, they're delicious. A dozen mixed for $15.95. The store is kind of lifeless, but sure does smell good. They need a little music in there or something to liven things up. I was a little concerned when they handed me the dozen donuts per-packaged but they sure did taste fresh. Super friendly staff. I'll be back.
